Matthew 1 (GSV)

Matthew

1 Book of genealogy {origin, genesis, existence} of Jesus Christ, son of David, son of Abraham.

2Abraham begat Isaac, and Isaac begat Jacob, and Jacob begat Judah and his brothers, 3and Judah begat Perez and Zerah out of Tamar, and Perez begat Hezron, and Hezron begat Aram, 4and Aram begat Amminadab, and Amminadab begat Nahshon, and Nahshon begat Salmon, 5and Salmon begat Boaz out of Rahab, and Boaz begat Obed out of Ruth, and Obed begat Jesse, 6and Jesse begat David the king.

And David begat Solomon out of the woman of Uriah, 7and Solomon begat Rehoboam, and Rehoboam begat Abijah, and Abijah begat Asaph, 8and Asaph begat Josaphat, and Josaphat begat Joram, and Joram begat Uzziah, 9and Uzziah begat Jotham, and Jotham begat Ahaz, and Ahaz begat Hezekiah, 10and Hezekiah begat Manasseh, and Manasseh begat Amos, and Amos begat Josiah, 11and Josiah begat Jechoniah and his brothers upon the relocation {deportation} of Babylon.

12And after the relocation of Babylon, Jechoniah begat Salathiel, and Salathiel begat Zerubbabel, 13and Zerubbabel begat Abiud, and Abiud begat Eliakim, and Eliakim begat Azor, 14and Azor begat Zadok, an Zadok begat Achim, and Achim begat Eliud, 15and Eliud begat Eleazar, and Eleazar begat Matthan, and Matthan begat Jacob, 16and Jacob begat Joseph, the man of Mary, out of whom {Mary} Jesus, the one being said Christ, was begotten.

17Therefore, all the generations from Abraham until David are fourteen generations, and from David until the relocation of Babylon fourteen generations, and from the relocation of Babylon until the Anointed One fourteen generations.

18And the origin [1] of Jesus Christ was thus. Of Mary, His mother, having been betrothed to Joseph, before them to come together, she was found having in womb out of the Holy Spirit. 19But Joseph, the man of her, being righteous and not wishing to make a display of her, wanted without public notice to divorce {set free} her. 20But of him having pondered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord according to a dream was visible to him, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take alongside Mary as your woman; for the thing in her having been begotten is out of the Holy Spirit. 21And she will bring forth for herself a son, and you will call His name Jesus; for He Himself will save His people from their sins.” 22And this whole thing has come to be in order that it might be fulfilled, the thing having been said by the Lord through the prophet, saying, 23“Behold, the virgin will have in womb and will bring forth for herself a son, and they will call His name Immanuel” (Is 7:14), which is being translated, “God with us.” 24And Joseph, having risen from the sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded to him and took alongside his woman, 25and he was not knowing her until which she brought forth a son; and he/she called His name Jesus.

Footnotes

1.)   More than just the birth of Christ but also the conception and the story of everything surrounding Jesus becoming man. Thus, it is the origin of his humanity rather than the origin of Him entirely.
